Tate-Jima

This full-length kimono is crafted from dark grey tsumugi silk, woven with fine tate-jima (vertical) stripes that shift from deep charcoal to black. The textured, slightly nubby surface gives rustic elegance, while the crisp drape and structured silhouette reflect mid-Shōwa refinement.
Open side slits at the hips introduce modern fluidity, allowing the kimono to layer gracefully over contemporary outfits.
