Collections
Every collection begins with a person — someone who fell in love with the beauty, craft, and stories woven into Japanese kimonos.
Our collectors are passionate custodians of culture, rescuing garments that might otherwise be forgotten and giving them new life. Each collection reflects their personal journey: the moments that inspired them, the treasures they sought, and the care they put into preserving history.
Here, you can meet the collectors, explore their vision, and see the kimonos they have carefully curated. From rare heirlooms to rescued treasures, each piece carries a story — of tradition, of artistry, and of the people who have cherished it before and after its journey to a new home.
Discover the collections and let the stories of these kimonos, and the hearts behind them, inspire you.
La Feminista
女の味方
Curated by a passionate promoter of authentic Japanese art and culture, this collection reflects her vision of 365 kimono style — wearing kimonos anytime, every day, styled freely with jeans, dresses, or modern wardrobe staples.
Based between Hokkaido and Durban, she rescues kimonos directly from individuals across Japan, many with precious personal stories. Through mindful danshari, she helps these treasured garments find new homes where they will be worn and appreciated anew.
Each piece is carefully handled, whether left untouched, resized, or upcycled with the precision craftsmanship of her retired mother. The collection celebrates heritage, creativity, and the living art of Japanese kimono.

The Maneki Neko Collection
Named after Japan’s legendary “beckoning cat,” this private collection embodies the spirit of good fortune, protection, and enduring beauty.
The legend tells of Tama, a humble cat who, during a fierce storm, beckoned Lord Daimyo Li Naotaka toward a nearby Zen temple — moments before lightning struck the tree he had been standing beneath. In gratitude for Tama’s lifesaving gesture, the lord blessed the temple, transforming it into a place of prosperity and reverence. From that day, the maneki neko became a symbol of luck and blessing — a guardian who calls good fortune home.
In that same spirit, the Maneki Neko Collection gathers rare, one-of-a-kind kimonos — each piece hand-selected by a lifelong kimono lover and collector who has worn them since her teenage years. Her wish is to share the beauty, craftsmanship, and history of these extraordinary garments with others who see kimonos not merely as clothing, but as living, wearable art.
This collection is a celebration of grace, heritage, and the quiet magic of good fortune — an homage to Tama, and to all who appreciate the art of timeless elegance.
