Olive Shippō Hanabishi Kimono
A full-length komon kimono woven from lightweight cotton in muted olive-brown, featuring an intricate all-over shippō tsunagi (linked seven-treasure circles) motif. Within each interlocking ring rests a tiny hanabishi (diamond flower) in soft red, yellow, and cream — traditional emblems of prosperity, beauty, and harmony. Together, the repeated circles and blossoms form a rhythmic, mosaic-like pattern that catches the eye with quiet sophistication.
The shippō motif, representing the endless interconnectedness of relationships and the treasures of life, has long been cherished in Japanese design. Here, its fine scale and gentle colour palette lend the kimono a grounded elegance suited for both casual and refined wear.
Likely from the mid–Shōwa era (circa 1950s–1970s), this piece reflects the period’s appreciation for symbolic geometry rendered in soft, natural hues.
A kimono of understated richness — where pattern, meaning, and craftsmanship intertwine in harmonious continuity.
Excellent vintage condition — minimal or no signs of age. The garment is beautifully preserved, showing the quality and detail of its original craftsmanship.
