Ivory Hanabishi Rinzū Haori
This elegant haori is crafted from softly draping, crepe-textured silk in a creamy ivory tone, its surface woven in rinzū damask with a raised pattern of hanabishi (diamond flowers) in pale turquoise and white. The repeating four-petaled blooms — framed within interlocking lozenges — symbolise refinement, prosperity, and the quiet beauty of order in Japanese design.
The interplay of sheen and texture gives the fabric a gentle iridescence, as if the pattern shifts with the light. Originally a full-length kimono, it has been thoughtfully shortened to 90 cm, transforming it into a versatile haori-style jacket while preserving its traditional craftsmanship.
Likely from the mid-Shōwa era (1950s–1970s), this piece bridges the grace of classic weaving with a modern, wearable silhouette — understated yet luminous, timeless in its simplicity.
